Philipp Blume: Composer

ex cusa

Here is an excerpt of a work in progress, from my chamber music cycle Rausch des Vergessens.

ex cusa takes its name from the 15th-century German philosopher Nicolaus Cusanus, source of the Doctrine of Ignorance and the Coincidentia Oppositorum.

This performance was presented by the modern art sextet, Berlin, at the Academy of Arts, on the evening where I received the Ferruccio Busoni Förderpreis and a kind Laudatio from Dieter Schnebel.

Date: June 7, 2005. Personnel: Unolf Wäntig, clarinet; Matthias Jann, trombone; Matias de Oliveira Pinto, cello; and Yoriko Ikeya, piano.
